Drilling Operation Supervision and Engineering Services of Kish Gas Field

Kish structure is located in the Persian Gulf, 30 Km east of Lavan Island. According to NIOC preliminary studies, the OGIP (original gas in place) of this field is expected to be 45 TSCF.

Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) has started to develop Kish Gas Field and in this regard, an engineering and supervision contract of 24 months was awarded to Pars Petro Zagros Engineering and Services Company. According to NIOC preliminary studies, the OGIP (original gas in place) of this field is estimated to be 45 TSCF.

Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) as the main developing company of Kish Gas Field entrusted PPZ Co. with a 24 month contract for engineering and supervision. The main objectives of the preliminary Kish Gas Field development project that started in April 2007 were as follows:

·         Drilling one well (KI-03) in the offshore area of the field

·         Preparing tender documents for rock and fluid sample analysis while KI-03 drilling in operation

·         Supervision, contractual/ legal and engineering services

·         Performing a new full field reservoir study using available data of two old wells. The scope of work in this regard included a review of geographical, geological, petrophysical, production and reservoir appraisal of the field as well as upgrading and MDP preparation

·         Proposing the required locations and preparing tender documents based on the geological forecasts and drilling programs (logging, testing and coring programs) for 12 vertical/directional wells and one workover well on Kish Island.
